The
continent
of
Fidius
is
extensively
covered
by
deserts,
which
makes
it
difficult
for
most
beings
to
live
there.
Especially
demons
have
lived
here
in
the
past,
and
even
in
modern
times
some
can
be
found
there.
On
the
other
hand,
the
ordinaries,
druids
and
magicians
have
preferred
to
live
in
the
coastal
area
and
near
the
jungle.
Fidius
is
divided
into
four
countries:
•
Deserta (capital: Bastet)
•
Suburra (main village: Vaculla)
•
Syrtis (capital: Lemphis)
•
Risu (capital: Tafnes)
In
the
deserts,
temperatures
can
reach
60°C
during
the
day
and
drop
to
30°C
at
night.
In
the
winter
months,
the
desert
can
get
as
cold
as
-10°C
at
night.
On
the
coasts
and
in
the
jungle,
on
the
other
hand,
it
is
somewhat
cooler
with
a
maximum
of
45°C
during
the
day.
In
most
areas,
the
temperatures
remain constant around 27 - 30 °C.
Fidius
includes
several
islands
and
island
groups.
These
are
also
sparsely
inhabited,
but
offer
a
much
more
pleasant
atmosphere
and
temperatures
of
25
to max. 33 °C due to the sea winds.
Despite
the
high
temperatures,
there
are
steadily
growing
numbers
in
the
villages
and
towns,
as
well
as
immigrants
from
Portunus
and
Mercurius.
Probably
the
most
densely
populated
land
of
Fidius
is
Deserta,
which
is
due
to
the
connection
between
Portunus
and
Fidius,
as
well
as
the
various
rivers.
The
capital
Bastet,
as
well
as
the
cities
Harena,
Sandyx,
Ebur
and
Excetra
were
already
in
the
times
of
the
Pharaohs
the
biggest
of
their
time.
This
hasn't
changed
and
the
inhabitants
live
there
from
agriculture,
handicraft
and
worldwide
trade
via
the
harbor
cities
and
villages.
Deserta
is
crossed
by
the
Ascania
jungle,
as
well
as
the
Contumax
jungle.
While
the
Ascania
Jungle
has
spread
extensively
to
the
north,
the
Contumax
Jungle
is
not
quite
as
dense
and
is
easier
to
walk
through.
The
Contumax
Jungle
stretches
along
almost
the
entire
east
coast
and
is
the
only
way
to
Risu unless you want to hike through the desert.
Deserta's
desert
is
divided
into
three
areas,
the
slightly
cooler
desert
area
near
the
Ascania
Jungle,
the
steppe
between
the
cities
of
Sandyx
and
Harena,
and
the
hot
sandy
desert
that
also
crosses
the
rest
of
the continent.
The
entire
country
is
flat
and
has
almost
no
mountainous
terrain.
Only
if
you
move
north
to
reach
the
continent
of
Portunus,
you
have
to
cross
the
Moniturus
Mountains.
The
highest
peak
is
at
an
altitude
of
5,199
km.
A
wide
pass
leads
safely
through
the
mountains,
but
there
are
also
brave
climbers
who
try
to
reach
the
summit.
Most
who
have
ever
tried
have
had
unpleasant
encounters
with
demons,
who
often
live
in
caves
at
the
higher
levels.
Deserta
includes
the
Caralan
Islands
and
the
smallest
island
of
the
Magnovia
Islands.
The
Caralan
islands
are
characterized
by
the
Contumax
jungle,
on
each
of
the
islands
there
is
a
single
village,
which
lives
by
fishing,
as
well
as
the
shipping
trade.
The
small
Magnovia
Island
belongs
more
to
the
Portunus
continent
in
terms
of
climate
and
flora.
However,
it
was
difficult
to
agree
on
the
continental
borders
during
the
conflict.
As
a
peaceful
solution,
the
Magnovia
Island
was
divided.
Deserta
received
the
closer
small
island,
which
is
free
of
mountains
and
has
only
a
few
trees.
The
temperature
there
is
around
23
-
30
°C
in
summer.
In winter it can get cold up to -5 °C.
The
capital
Bastet
is
located
directly
on
the
sea
and
is
crossed
by
one
of
the
rivers
Desertas.
In
the
center
of
the
city,
the
district
of
Azae
is
the
marketplace,
where
fresh
fruits
and
vegetables,
as
well
as
other
food
and
clothing
are
still
sold
twice
a
week
as
in
earlier
times.
To
the
south,
within
the
city
walls,
lies
the
Mubastis
Temple,
where
statues
of
the
three
highest
Egyptian
gods
still
stand.
Within
the
walls
of
the
city
center
are
also
the
districts
of
Leaethus
and
Bemphis.
Leaethus
has
two
modern
harbors,
which
are
used
for
trade
and
tourism.
Outside
the
ring
of
walls,
to
the
east,
lies
the
district
of
Noryllus.
This
is
rather
quiet
in
contrast
to
the
active
everyday
life
in
the
city
center
and
is
inhabited
mainly
by
farmers
and
simple
people.
If
you
leave
the
city
through
it,
you
will
pass
by
the
large
fields
in
most
cases.
To
the
west
are
the
districts
of
Surcrea
and
Ortentis.
Sucrea
also
has
a
port
through
which
trade
is
conducted
exclusively.
Ortentis,
on
the
other
hand,
is
characterized
by
poverty and crime.
On
the
other
side
of
the
river
is
the
district
of
Gezira.
Only
a
few
ferries
connect
it
with
the
rest
of
the
city,
which
additionally
lead
the
residents
in
or
out
of
the
city.
Residents
who
live
directly
on
the
river usually have their own small boat.
At
the
times
of
the
Egyptian
pharaohs,
witchcraft
was
also
practiced
in
Bastet,
as
well
as
other
large
cities.
Even
today
there
are
some
sorcerers
and
witches who live there in hiding.
The
land
of
Suburra
lies
to
the
west
of
Fidius
and
is
inhabited
by
very
few
ordinary
people.
In
the
middle
of
the
desert,
but
close
to
the
border
with
Deserta,
lie
the
old
ruins
of
a
former
village
of
the
Ordinaries
buried
under
the
sand.
Many
people
tried
to
get
a
foothold
in
the
Suburra
Desert,
but
without
success.
The
only
creatures
that
succeeded
were
the
demons.
In
their
heyday,
there
was
the
demon
city
of
Nemorosus,
near
the
Livor
Oasis.
Today,
only
the
ruins
remain
there,
slowly
being
swallowed
up
by
the
desert.
Further
south,
in
the
Rubidus
jungle,
there
is
a
spring
that
rises
between
some
rocks.
Demons
once
called
it
the
Fountain
of
Destiny,
where
every
demon's
destiny
begins
and
ends.
Many
dead
demon
bodies
were
buried
in
the
fire
near
it
and
left
among
the
ashes
to
decompose.
Some
bones
can
still be discovered there.
The
Rubidus
jungle
stretches
along
just
about
the
entire
coastal
edge
of
Suburra.
It
is
densest
in
the
northwest,
where
there
is
also
a
cave
that
once
served as a shadow gate.
Suburra
also
has
some
small,
narrow
rivers.
However,
only
druids
live
on
the
mainland,
and
they
also
administer
the
whole
land.
The
village
of
Vaculla
is
the
headquarters,
which
also
has
a
small
harbor.
Besides
Vaculla,
there
are
also
the
villages
of
Paniscus,
Dolabella
and
Brevitas.
The
druids
live
in
connection
with
nature
and
respect
the
demons
that
settle
in
the
jungle.
All
four
villages
are
located
south of the former Shadow Gate.
However,
not
only
druids
and
demons
live
in
Suburra.
On
the
group
of
islands
called
Seruel
and
Gicia
Island,
some
ordinaries
have
settled
as
well.
Spread
over
the
four
islands,
there
are
eleven
villages
and
one
small
town
that
live
exclusively
from import and export.
Syrtis
is
often
called
the
dead
land.
Only
the
capital
Lemphis
and
the
seaside
village
Vahab
can
be
found
on
the
mainland.
Syrtis
consists
almost
exclusively
of
a
desert
landscape.
If
you
dare
to
go
further
out
into
the
desert,
you
can
look
forward
to
fighting
demons,
sunbathing
salamanders,
dijnns
floating
around, quicksand and canyons.
A
short
distance
into
Syrtis
is
the
Contumax
Jungle,
where
the
two
places
mentioned
above
are
located.
In
the
very
south
of
the
continent
lie
the
tropical
islands.
The
air
there
is
humid
and
muggy.
On
the
larger
island
there
are
three
villages,
all
of
which
have
their
own
harbor.
Agriculture
is
also
practiced
in
the
midst
of
the
jungle
and
much
of
the
life
is
derived
from
trade
across
the
ocean.
On
the
smaller
island
is
the
village
of
Afonus,
which
also
has
a
harbor.
This
isn't
functional,
the
ships
have
mostly
already
sunk
to
the
bottom
of
the
sea.
Afonus
is
a
village
inhabited
by
almost
only
black
magicians.
They
are
free
black
magicians,
descendants
of
the
former
servants
of
Satan.
Some
are
immortals,
others
additionally
practice
druidism
or
witchcraft,
and
a
few
were
born
without
any
magic.
The
non-
magical
often
move
to
other
towns
and
villages
in
adulthood.
Food
is
often
purchased
from
the
mainland
or
stolen.
Most
black
magicians
try
to
earn
their
money
through
work.
Thus,
they
become
assassins,
detectives,
herbal
healers,
or
treasure
hunters. A few engage in fishing or practice a craft.
From
the
Seviguna
group
of
islands,
the
southernmost
island
still
belongs
to
Syrtis.
Here,
too,
there
is
a
small
village
called
Eralus
with
a
harbor.
Fishing
and
trade
determine
life
here
as
well.
The
smallest
country
of
Fidius
is
Risu
and
is
characterized
by
the
Contumax
jungle
at
the
coast,
as
well
as
the
Palatinatu
mountains
in
the
middle
of
the
desert.
The
capital
Tafnes
is
located
in
the desert, but far enough towards the coast that the
inhabitants
can
provide
themselves
with
everything
they
need.
Tafnes
is
generally
a
very
modern
and
cultured
city.
Because
of
its
peculiarity
that
here
the
townspeople
brave
the
heat
and
cold
of
the
desert,
it
attracts
tourists
from
near
and
far.
Getting
there
is
not
always
easy
and
is
considered
a
test
of
God
by
strong believers.
The
village
of
Cesna
would
certainly
be
an
attraction
as
well
if
it
were
not
so
disreputable.
Among
the
ordinary
people
it
is
said
that
only
criminals
live
there.
The
truth
is
that
it
is
a
village
full
of
half-demons.
They
aren't
affected
by
the
Pact
of
Compulsion,
so
they
have
no
obligation
to
serve
Satan.
Since
they
are
despised
by
demons
themselves,
due
to
their
lack
of
pure
blood,
and
misunderstood
by
mortals,
they
have
founded
their
own
village.
Cesna
is
located
directly
in
the
Palatinatu
Mountains,
with
some
houses
built
into
the
stone
walls
and
caves.
Most,
however,
stand
on
flat
rocky
ground
or
desert
sand.
The
Palatinatu
Mountains are 3,451 km high at their highest point.
In
the
Contumax
jungle
and
near
the
sea
there
are
more
villages
of
the
ordinaries,
but
Risu
isn't
particularly
densely
populated,
although
isolated
rivers
also
flow
through
the
jungle.
Just
three
villages
can
be
found
on
the
mainland
and
four
more
on
the
Seviguna
Islands.
Here,
too,
life
is
mainly based on trade across the ocean.
